December 2020 Theme of the Month

It is officially the time of year for frozen pipes! The amount of calls we receive regarding this type of water damage skyrockets during these few months. Throughout the month of December, we are focusing on what to do if it happens and how to prevent it.

Before this happens, take these preventative measures to take to help against your pipes from getting too cold when the temperature drops.

  • Keep the Thermostat Consistent (Even When Not Home)
  • Open Cabinet Doors for Warm Air Circulation
  • Close the Garage Door
  • Drip Faucets When Temperature is Low
  • Keep the Interior Doors Open for Better Air Flow

If you do suspect a frozen pipe, the first thing you will do is find the water main shut-off valve. Second, turn on the faucet so thawing water can flow and relieve pressure. Third, slowly warm the pipes with a heater or hairdryer. Fourth, look for any type of water damage that has already been caused by small leaks. Last, give us a call right away if you find any damage before it gets worse.

We can make it “Like it never even happened.”
